Flax seed oil is nature’s most concentrated source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an essential omega-3 fatty acid. Flax Seed Oil supplement provides ALA, as well as significant amounts of oleic acid and the essential linoleic acid in their natural triglyceride forms. Flax Seed Oil is extracted without the damaging effects of heat, light, and oxygen using a mechanical expeller press. Using this process, the oil never is exposed to temperatures above 96º F, and it retains its natural color and contents of naturally occurring fatty acids, phosphatides, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Organic Flax Seed Oil is available as a liquid or in softgel form.
Folic acid is a water-soluble essential B vitamin found in many foods, including leafy green vegetables, citrus fruits, and beans. Research has established that supplementation with folic acid before and during the first two months of pregnancy can prevent neural tube defects in developing fetuses in women. The U.S. Public Health Service has recommended that women of childbearing age take a supplement containing 400 mcg of folic acid every day to reduce the risk of a pregnancy affected by neural tube defects. In addition to its prevention of serious birth defects, folic acid plays a key role in the metabolism of homocysteine. Homocysteine is a sulfur containing amino acid that is created in the body from methionine, an essential amino acid derived solely from dietary intake. High plasma levels of homocysteine appear to injure the vasculature, impairing the functional abilities of endothelial and smooth muscle cells. Elevated homocysteine also appears to be thrombogenic. Suboptimal intake of several B vitamins, including folic acid, in addition to renal failure and genetic defects in homocysteine metabolism, can all contribute to abnormal homocysteine levels.
L-Carnitine is an amino acid found abundantly in skeletal and heart muscle. L-Carnitine has demonstrated the ability to promote oxygenation of hearth muscle, support cardiovascular energy, enhance endurance training, and maintain healthy lipid metabolism. L-Carnitine is available in a 500mg tablet as the tartrate.

Magnesium Glycinate 500 mg capsules feature the most rapidly absorbed salt of magnesium, in an easy-to-use high-dose capsule formulation. Capsules can be swallowed, or the capsules can be opened and the contents dissolved in water for administration. Magnesium plays an essential role in a wide range of fundamental cellular functions. More than 300 enzyme pathways require magnesium as a cofactor. When complexed with adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the main carrier of metabolic energy in the body, magnesium is essential for several essential biological processes. Clinically, magnesium can be recommended as a laxative, for various cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, fatigue, fibromyalgia, migraine, osteoporosis, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, and for increased stamina in athletes. It is estimated that a significant portion of the American population is deficient in magnesium. Low levels of magnesium can be caused by gastrointestinal or renal loss due to incomplete reabsorption. Other causes of magnesium loss can be from excessive intake of alcohol, sugar, fiber, caffeine and laxatives. Many medications create a depletion of magnesium, including: oral contraceptives, estrogens, loop diuretics, thiazide diuretics, digoxin, tetracycline and several other antibiotics. In fact, many of the common adverse effects seen with these medications correspond with the symptoms of magnesium depletion. These include: muscle cramps, weakness, insomnia, anxiety, confusion and depression. The recommended daily allowances for magnesium are 410-420 mg/day for men and 310-360 mg/day for women.
Magnesium Glycinate 500 mg capsules may be a useful nutritional adjunct for individuals who wish to increase their dietary intake of magnesium.
